PSA Academies Open Day tickets selling fast, as coaches announced

The PSA Academies Open Day set for Finborough School on Saturday 1st April is proving popular, with tickets being snapped by players from seven clubs in the Eastern Counties area (Stowmarket RFC, Bury RFC, Ipswich YM RFC, Saffron Walden RFC, Woodbridge RFC, Cambridge RFC & Mersea Island RFC).

Headed by former French RWC Head Coach and PSA Academies co-founder Philippe Saint-Andre, the coaching team for the evident is of the very highest quality;

Johne Murphy (@MurphyJohne) – following a successful playing career with Ireland A, Leicester Tigers and Munster, Johne has transitioned well to the coaching ranks, as player coach with AIL team Naas RFC, coach to St Mary’s College Dublin Senior Cup team and head coach at PSA Academies.

Simon Sinclair (@Simon_Sinclair) – as Academy Coach & EPDG Manager (Eastern Counties) at Northamption Saints, Simon has a wide ranging player development and coaching involvement from the underage ranks right up to the first team squad at Franklin Gardens.

James Wade (@afyasports) – with over a decade of experience in the Premiership, working for Sale Sharks and London Wasps during periods of great success for both clubs, James has a wealth of experience in player development. He is also currently head coach for Oxford University Rugby Club and a coach with AFYA Sports.

Denis Fogarty (@denisfogs) – won the Heineken Cup with Munster and played representative rugby for Ireland A, before finishing his playing carer in Aux Province. Having been a senior coach on the Tignes Rugby Academy in 2016, he is currently a full time forwards coach and mentor for the Espoires Aux Province squad.

Intermediate (10-15 years) or Advanced (16-18 years) players attending on the day can expect a high level of coaching across four different core development areas, in the surroundings of the top class Finborough School sports facilities.

The day’s schedule starts at 9am with player registration, running through to a concluding Q&A on the Tignes Rugby Academy and a meet & greet/selfies session with the coaches. The session only costs £20 per player including light refreshments and a £5 PSA Academies online shop voucher.
