After successfully launching in 2018, the PSA Rugby Academy, Roscrea returns this July with a new and improved programme for high potential 10 to 17 year old boys. Taking place in the surrounds of the top rugby and education venue of Cistercian College (winners of the 2015 Leinster Schools Senior cup), the programme for 2019 will add a number of high-quality activities run in conjunction with our partners Xplore.
On the rugby side, ambitious players will be introduced to our key coaching principles, focusing on the assessment and development of key core skills around passing, rucking, tackling and game management. With the use of leading sports tech, the top coaching team will develop a player-specific report sent to players and parents post-camp to help with ongoing development. But at the PSA Rugby Academy, Roscrea, there is a focus on the wider development of the person through our varied programme content that covers introductions to key sports science areas, mental wellness principles and fun but challenging C.A.R.D.S. (Creativity, Awareness, Resilience, Decision-Making, Self-Organisation) based group activities.
Also new for 2019, we look forward to welcoming international players to Ireland for an exciting 12 night Rugby and English Language Immersion programme. This will include a place in the PSA Rugby Academy, Roscrea & Limerick rugby programmes, 18 hours classroom-based learning with experienced quality tutors, 12 nights full board shared accommodation at Cistercian College & Villiers School, daily leisure activities provided by our partners Xplore and a day excursion to visit some of the Shannon region’s leading tourism attractions.
