The Cork leg of the High Performance Charity Rugby Clinics tour has received a fantastic response to date (and there are still places left), with close to 50 players already booked in for what promised to be a fantastic half day clinic.

The famous Cork Constitution Football Club, the home of UNICEF Ireland‘s Ambassador Donnacha O’Callaghan, is the venue for a full-on half day programme that will include tuition and drills in fundamental rugby skills around attack and defence (using the cutting edge rugby tech provided by Shadowman Sports) plus a wide array of exercises, games and challenges focusing on the physical and mental development of the players.

The coaching team, led by head coach and ex-Munster Rugby star Johne Murphy plus guest coach Ben Swindlehurst (current Young Munster RFC 1st team player and attack coach to Glenstal Rugby, 2018 Munster Schools Senior Cup winners) will expertly lead the group aged 10 to 16 years through the 4 hour schedule.

The Charity Rugby Clinics are designed to provide a taster experience for any players interested in potentially booking places on the Roscrea Rugby Academy (1-6 July) and Kilkenny Rugby Academy (12-17 August), plus are important in generating much needed donations for PSA Academies charity partners UNICEF Ireland, who will receive €10 per player booking to attend.

Johne was interviewed by Ruairi O’Hagan on Red FM about the Clinics and the crunch Racing 92 v Munster Rugby European Rugby Champions Cup Semi Final clash later on Sunday – listen to it here.  Also, don’t miss Johne’s full Champions Cup Semi Finals Preview on our Blog here.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing you at the High Performance Charity Rugby Clinics, either this Sunday in Cork or at our final one in Dublin on Sunday 13th May (rearranged from last Sunday 15th April due to a waterlogged pitch).
